The people
Every person this archive names has a page: 26 on the English line and 174 in the register.
One page for each person the archive names, the living included. A living person's page says their name, their relationships and their town and country, and nothing more.
How to read these pages
The English line below is hand-written: twenty ancestors, each graded on the same five-word ladder as the tree, each with what is not known. 11 of the 26 are graded documented and the rest probable. The register pages are drawn from the register and from nothing else: what the source tree says, what has been read about the person here, and who they are said to be related to.
A living person (80 or younger, with no death recorded) is named with their relationships and their town and country, and nothing more. 4 such people have a page; it is not indexed by search engines and not in this site’s search. Derrick’s father, Leonard, has a page of his own, and so do the people on the Luwinski side. The line from Leonard to Derrick rests on DNA and inference rather than on a document; the DNA page says how.
The people of the English line
Everyone here was born before 1900 and is long dead. Where a record was read the page says which; where a statement is a family tree's word, a best candidate or not proved, it says that instead, and the grade on the person is the grade of the weakest link a reader would otherwise take for granted.

| Caroline Wallis | 1862–1957 | Castle | Probable | She remarried in 1920 and died in 1957 as Caroline James, which is why every tree that carries her as Caroline Wallis was hunting a death registered under another surname. |
Great-great-grandparents
| Person | Dates | Line | Grade | |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Elizabeth Giddins | b. c.1815 | Castle | Documented | Born at Norton, and in 1871 doing platting, the straw-plaiting that kept Hertfordshire women in work for a century. |
Three generations further back
| Person | Dates | Line | Grade | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| William Wallis | 1807–c.1850 | Castle | Probable | A labourer's son who married at nineteen, fathered at least eight children and died before the census of 1851 left his widow on the parish. |

| John Wear | of Newington | Wear | Probable | A Newington man, the best candidate for William Wear's father, who is on this site only as the name on a baptism index. |
| Elizabeth Wear | of Newington | Wear | Probable | Known only as the mother named on two baptism transcripts at Newington, and held as probable. |
| William Hawkins | of Aldenham | Hawkins | Probable | Called the banns for Mary Appleyard at Aldenham in April 1800; nine children were baptised to a William and Mary Hawkins between 1801 and 1819. |

| Robert Larkin | of Aldenham | Hawkins | Probable | Called the banns for Mary Burch at Aldenham in January 1814. Eleven children were baptised to a Robert and a Mary Larkin between 1814 and 1833, and they cannot all be this couple's. |
